How to stop bad breath(Halitosis) completely - Working treatment inside

We all know what bad breath is, and the embarrassment it causes. Many people have lost their relationships due to this. Many are finding it hard to speak comfortably due to this disorder.A lot of  individuals have stopped smiling due to their stinking smell.  You might not take bad breath as a serious disorder but it really is , and it is termed halitosis in medicine. In this post we shall consider
  • Those things that leads to halitosis(did you know that mints makes it even worse?)
  • How to know if you have halitosis
  • Treatments in children and adults
  • Cleaning your tongue effectively to fight bad breath

What causes bad breath

The root causes of bad breath is the development of some bacterium in  side your mouth. This bacterias feed and excrete right inside your gum and release sulfuric gases which is pungent outside. When this bacteria multiplies , they cause mouth and tooth decay which causes some really disgusting smell in your saliva.Certain medical conditions of damaged liver may also result into halitosis.Gum diseases also causes it due to cavities and holes in teeth which harbors bacteria. You may have bad breadth if your mouth is short of saliva, this disorder is called xerostomia

You may develop halitosis if you do the following:

  • If you Smoke tobacco and its product, cigar.
  • If you don't like eating breakfast
  • Eating raw foods like onion and garlic
  • Eating sugary foods and chocolate without flossing.
  • Irregular brushing and flossing.

How to know if you have this condition of bad breath

The surest way to know your breath is bad is to actually have people tell you. But if you don't want to take the risk. You can isolate your saliva and smell it . This can be done by inserting a small plastic spoon in your mouth ,remove it ,allow some minutes and smell it back. If it smells so bad , then you yourself should conclude that you have it.

Best Practices to Fight Bad breath

Common Misconceptions
A worse method of fighting bad breath is by taking mints. This is what people feel is their messiah when bad breath troubles their pretty smile. But by doing this, you are only masking the smell, so what happens when the mask is off? By taking mints you also building up sugar in your cavities and the sole action of chewing mints and sweets makes things was later on

To stop bad breath , do the following:

Good brushing and flossing habit
To fight bad breath completely you must develop a good flossing and brushing habit in order to improve your poor oral hygiene. The ideal brushing habit should be at least twice a day or after every meal. This should effectively remove any stain or bacterias that may want to reside in your mouth.Remember that while brushing , you should fix a particular attention to cleaning your tongue and you should use a fluoride toothpaste while brushing. Brushing alone is not a complete cure to halitosis or bad breadth, you should also include flossing in your quest for a good breath.

Mouth wash and Water intake
Develop a good habit of replenishing your saliva by watching your mouth regularly with an antiseptic mouthwash and peroxide. By doing this, you are gradually replacing bad saliva with good ones. By rinsing your mouth with peroxide(not consuming it), you will also reduces the chances of survival of bacteria in your mouth. Also ensure you take a lot of water regularly to fight dry mouth, staying hydrated every time, will reduce bacteria activities in your mouth

Stop taking some foods
Stop taking those strong tasty food like onions , garlic, onions . When you eat them raw their smell only is enough to keep people away from you. When you eat chocolates, don't allow the residue to stay too long before you wash off. Stop chewing tobacco and taking alcohol, they are principal causes of bad breath in many people. When you take mint to kill bad breath , take it with caution because you are consuming more sugar.

See your dentist
No matter what we list here, physically seeing your dentist is a best option. Let your dentist examine you and your breath to prescribe the right medication.

8 pointers that tell you may be having HIV

As we all know,  HIV is a deadly disease that steals your peace away, almost completely, once you have it. Today,  I will be sharing with you the signs that indicate that you might be having this unremovable virus in your system.

WHAT IS HIV?
“HIV” stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. To understand what that means, let’s break it down:
HHuman – This virus affects humans alone.
I – Immunodeficiency – It weakens your immune system by destroying important cells that fight disease and infection. An immune system that is "deficient" can't protect you.
VVirus – A virus can only reproduce itself by taking over a cell in the body of its host.
HIV is a lot like other viruses. But there is an important difference – over time, your immune system can clear most viruses out of your body. That isn't the case with HIV – the human immune system can't seem to get rid of it. That means that once you have HIV, you have it for life. HIV infection can lead to AIDS, the final stage of HIV infection . However, not everyone who has HIV progresses to AIDS. With proper treatment , called “antiretroviral therapy” (ART), you can keep the level of HIV virus in your body low. ART is theuse of HIV medicines to fight HIV infection. It involves taking a combination of HIV medicines every day.
“AIDS” stands for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome . Now, to the pointers that speak of the possibility of being HIV positive.
Within 2-4 weeks after HIV infection, many, but not all, people experience :
 1. flu-like symptoms,
often described as the “worst flu ever.” This is
called “acute retroviral syndrome” (ARS) or “primary HIV infection"
2. Fever (this is the most common symptom)
3. Swollen glands
4. Sore throat
5. Rash
6. Fatigue
7. Muscle and joint aches and pains
8. Headache

These symptoms can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. However, you should not
assume you have HIV if you have any of these symptoms. Each of these symptoms can be
caused by other illnesses.
Many people who are infected with HIV do not have any symptoms at all for 10 years or more. You cannot rely on symptoms to know whether you have HIV. The only way to know for sure if you are infected with HIV is to get tested. If you think you have recently been exposed to HIV—if you have had oral, vaginal or anal sex without a condom with a known HIV positive person or a partner whose HIV status you do not know or shared needles to inject drugs—get an HIV test. Traditional HIV tests detect HIV antibodies. But during this early stage your body is not yet producing these antibodies.
A new HIV test was approved in 2013 that can detect the presence of HIV in your body during this early stage of infection. So no matter where you get tested, it is very important to let your provider know that you may have been recently infected with HIV and you would like to be tested for acute HIV.
It is important to know your status.
   Get tested today!

Cancer types, characteristics, causes, symptoms, prevention and treatment of cancer.

Two nights ago, while my brother and I were having our dinner at the dining, after we had giggled upon seeing a  hilarious video, he showed me the picture of a lady who needed $5k to cure the brain tumor that had stolen her sight, we both shared the deep feeling of pity for her at that moment and talked on about cancer.
Having always wanted to know more about cancer (you might too, especially if you've seen or read 'the fault in our stars'), I decided to research and write about cancer that night.
Now, let me tell you all you need to know about cancer, it really is an interesting topic, see for yourself.
Definition, types, characteristics, causes, symptoms, prevention and  treatment of cancer.

                                 Definition of cancer

Cancer is truly deadly and much dreaded than any other disease, even viral ones.  But you need to know this; there is no cancer without tumor, cancer is also known as 'malignant tumor' or 'malignant neoplasm'. So, if you are wondering what on earth does 'tumor' means, well I'll tell you .
Tumor  first of all, is a Latin word for 'swelling' and it is one of the cardinal signs of inflammation (they are: heat, redness, swelling, pain and loss of function). A tumor most times is used as a synonym for neoplasm (though some neoplasm do not form a tumor) that appears enlarged in size.
Since, cancer is a malignant Tumor, you should as well be told what a malignant tumor is. A malignant tumor is a tumor which invades its surrounding tissue or spread to other parts of the body.
Therefore, Cancer is a  disease that involves abnormal cell growth with the potential to spread to other parts of the body. Cancer being such a distinct kind of disease, sadly has over 100 different types and all affect humans, few are :
  •  Adrenal cancer
  • Anal cancer
  •  Bile duct cancer
  • Bladder cancer
  • Bone cancer
  • Brain cancer
  • Breast cancer (both in men and women)
  • Cervical cancer
  • Rectum cancer
  • Endometrial cancer
  • Esophagus cancer
  • Eye cancer
  • Gallbladder cancer
  • Kidney cancer
  • Liver cancer
  • Lung cancer
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Penile cancer
  • Stomach cancer
  • Thyroid cancer
  • Vaginal cancer
and the list goes on, it is like cancer could attack almost every organ of the body, any organ.
Now, let's move to the characteristics of cancer.

                                                     Characteristics of cancer

Cancer is self-sufficient in growth signalling, insensitive to anti-growth signals (it keeps on growing no matter what), it can evade apoptosis ( natural or programmed cell death), it enables a limitless replicative potential, induces and sustains angiogenesis( a fundamental step in the transition of tumors from benign state in to a malignant one) and finally, it activates metastasis (the spread of cancer from one organ or part to another not directly related to it) and invasion of tissue.
All those traits? wow, some hell of a strong disease it really is.

                                                      Causes of cancer

Research has made it known that 90-95% of cancer cases were caused due to environmental factors. The remaining 5-10% are due to inherited genetics.
The environmental factors include tobacco, diet and obesity, infections, radiation, stress, lack of physical activity and environmental pollutants. cancer is generally not a transmissible disease.
Exposure to particular substances have been linked to specific types of cancer. These substances are called carcinogens.
Tobacco smoking, for example , causes 90% of lung cancer. Tobacco is responsible for about one in three of all cancer deaths in the developed world.
In Western Europe, 10% of cancers in male and 3% in females are attributed to alcohol consumption, especially cancer of the liver and of the digestive tract.
Every year, at least 200,000 people worldwide die due to cancer related to what they are being exposed to at work, for example, people working were there is an exposure to benzene stand a great risk of having lukemia(cancer of the bone marrow. ).

                                                Symptoms of cancer

The symptoms of cancer depend on the location of the Tumor. At the initial stage , cancer invariably produces no symptoms, they only appear as the mass continues to grow.
For example, mass effect from lung cancer can result in blockage of the bronchus, leading to cough or pneumonia.
esophageal cancer can cause narrowing of the esophagus, making it difficult to swallow, even painful.

The general effects of cancer include: unintentional weight loss, fever, tiredness, and skin changes.
The medical tests used in the diagnosis of cancer include blood tests, x-rays, CT scans and endoscopy and it is confirmed by biopsy.

     Prevention and  Treatment of cancer

Cancer can be prevented by avoiding the risk factors which are the environmental factors mentioned earlier.
Chemotherapy is the treatment of cancer with cytotoxic anti-neoplastic drugs . These drugs act by killing the rapidly dividing cancerous cells.

The efficacy of cancer depends on the type of cancer and the stage. In combination with surgery, chemotherapy has proven useful in a number of cancer cases.
Immunotherapy as well, helps in stimulating the immune system to fight cancer.

Well, that's all I've got to share with you on cancer .
Till next time.
Stay healthy, stay strong.

We do hope you engine this post, pls share it on your networks

What Obesity will cause to your child

A child of 7 weighing more than a 100kg has obviously chopped chunks of flesh more than his age and stature can handle although the body Mass Index is the right method of calculating over weighted humans.

However , Obesity itself poses a lot of risky health problems to your child, If your teen child is over weighted, then he is prone to , a type 2 diabetes , high blood pressure, asthma ,sleep disorders, high cholesterol bone problems, emotional disorders

What usually causes obesity in kids

Knowing the cause of an issue is a step towards getting the solution to that problem . It is however saddened to know that obesity in teens are caused by carefree attitude of most parents and families. Let us look at some of the causes of obesity in children of nowadays.
  • Eating Out : Most parents are probably too busy to cook for their child so , all they do is stuck their refrigerator with junk foods for their kids to find when they are not around. Most parents also prefer eating out more than they do cooking at home which is very bad. Junk food however are detrimental to the well being of your child, they are easy access to high calorie products/sugars and will cause them to gain way too much weight.
  • Sugar Consumption : You probably have not be monitoring your child's consumption f the godiva chocolate in your fridge. You may not notice him when he keeps consuming icing sugars from his friend's birthday party. All this are additional weight for your child which later leads to obesity

  • Exercise: If your child is getting obese, maybe this will be the right time for you to seize that video game of his and remove the TV in his room. This is because the more your child spends time indoors doing nothing, the more his fat keeps increasing. so you should change uregent action about it with immediate effect. Take him out for workouts , let him play around with his friends in the basket ball court instead of his gaming console. Also ensure that he/she is actively participating in extra curricular activities in hos school to ensure burning more Facts.

Breakfast: Researches of many years have shown that , kids who  take breakfasts daily are less prone to obesity. If it is just a cup of coffee and milk , that will be at least enough to keep the stomach running before lunch. You can prepare cereals like cornflakes or wheatmeals for your child every morning instead of allowing them to take lunch as the first meal of the day.

Reduce Sugar: You should monitor the sugar level of each of the foods you are preparing for your children so as to know how to reduce the sugar intake per day. Some foods also have hidden sugar in them  and because they are not directly revealed we feel safe consuming them, those foods include margarine , mashed potatoes and fast foods. Chocolate consumption which is a major sugar source should also be avoided.

Exercise : Regular and daily exercise will help your child burn more calories which will gradually reduce its weight.Ensure that your  child does not spend too much time indoors sleeping. Make sure he/she is active most times of the day.
